The course focuses on renal physiology, with
particular emphasis on solute transport processes and the role
of the kidney in maintenance of the effective circulating volume;
the gastrointestinal system, with emphasis on motility, secretion,
digestion and absorption of nutrients and minerals; the endocrine
system, with particular emphasis on regulation of carbohydrate,
lipid and protein metabolism; and the female and male reproductive
systems, including the physiology of pregnancy and neonatal physiology.
