Moving to another country that is significantly different from home can be an overwhelming and life changing experience for many. In addition to wondering what living in the host culture will be like, one of the issues of which you, the student, should also be mindful is the
start up costs
that may be relevant to settling in your tropical home. These costs are generally expended prior to registration and the start of classes. Additionally, based on the funds that are available to you, it is a great idea to plan a workable
budget
(using St Kitts’ prices) that will comfortably get you through each semester.
As you pack your summer clothes, swim wear and accessories, bug repellant, family pictures, and other small comforts from home, be sure to include your
documents
of identification.
The physical proof of these items is a necessary part of the financial aid process during your time here on campus. Having these documents readily available will undoubtedly save you the costs of time, money, and the anxiety of having to retrieve them from the United States should you be requested to show particular proof of identification. Additionally, if you have had prior student loans, packing your deferment

will be another anxiety saving experience in the future.
