CD Burning Guidelines

The LRC is currently offering a CD burning service for the student body.

This service enables you to copy all data stored in your personal folder and any APPROVED data within the “Student Apps” folder to a CD. Digitized movies and all data located on the WALRUS Domain computers is prohibited from being duplicated.

Students are now in charge of burning their own cds. On table 4, (Map of LRC Floor), the 8 computers against the wall have now been equipped with 8 CD-RW/DVD drives.

During off peek hours when the LRC isn't too crowded, we kindly ask you to use other computers on the floor, so those computers can be left free for students wanting to use the burners.

Below are a few helpful tips for you to keep in mind when burning your cds.

• Use a soft-tipped permanent marker to label your CD’s.
• We recommend buying CD cases to store your CD’s, or a CD carrying case.
• Only use CD-R’s unless you intend to erase the data. CD-RW’s take longer to burn.
• You can add more data to a CD-R, once you use the same burning software.
• Bring your own CDs. The LRC/IT department will not provide or sell any cds to students.

If you need any help, just ask a member of the LRC staff.
