Mission Statement:

"The Mission of the Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine (RUSVM) Department of Safety and Security is to enhance the quality of life for all members of the RUSVM community by providing a safe and secure learning and working environment on the RUSVM campus and by providing critical incident and emergency response capability to the RUSVM family throughout the local communities on St. Kitts.

To accomplish this goal, the RUSVM Department of Safety and Security will uphold the highest traditions of the University, while providing friendly, customer centric oriented safety and security services to the University, its students, visitors, faculty, staff and their associated families.

Among the Departmental Values that we insist upon are:

Professionalism - We will always be aware of our image and role within the institution. We will use our skills, training, and knowledge to serve the RUSVM community. We will ensure that we treat everyone equally, free from racial, religious, sexual, and workplace harassment, intimidation, threats or violence.

Customer Service - We will respond in a timely manner to all calls for service, both routine and emergency, on or off campus, and will ensure that we do our best to meet the needs of our clients at all times.

Safety – We will ensure that the RUSVM campus is a safe place to visit, work and study.

Security – It is the responsibility of the RUSVM Department of Safety and Security to ensure that all members of the RUSVM gain the benefits of a secure environment conducive to the educational, professional and personal growth of all community members.

Integrity - We will hold ourselves to the highest standards of truth and honesty. Our word is based on our bond and our behavior is above reproach.

Communication - We will always listen to the needs and the concerns of our community members while ensuring that the safety and well being of the community comes first.

Respect - We will treat everyone we encounter with respect and dignity. We will respect and obey the laws of the Federation of St. Kitts & Nevis, and the policies, procedures and rules of Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine.

Loyalty - We will always remain loyal to those we serve: the entire RUSVM community.

Duty - We will do our duty to the best of our ability. The welfare and safety of our community members are our top priority.
