Ross University Student Associate American Veterinary Medical Association

SAAVMA President

Welcome from the SAAVMA President

Welcome to the Fall 2007 semester at Ross university School of Veterinary Medicine. My names in Andrew Schwarz and I am currently the president of the Student Associate American Veterinary Medical Association. This is my first semester as the SAAVMA president and most of the Executive Board is also new. Our goal is to enhance student life and the sense of community among colleagues while we are here in St. Kitts. Most of us are away from home and the everyday familiarities of the States. These two years are an opportunity to live a totally different experience while immersed in Veterinary Medicine. The SAAVMA made this website in order to keep the student body up-to-date on the activities taking place at Ross University and as a go-to resource for the information you need regarding clubs, activities and licensure to the Ross population.

Like any University the Ross experience is what you make of it. We are encouraging you to make the most of these opportunities as Ross goes through many changes moving forward in the accreditation process. One of the new activities planned for the winter semester is an open house. This is the time for people not directly involved in Ross to come and see what exactly we are doing here for these long hours everyday. At the same time, students and faculty come together to educate the public on Veterinary Medicine, and how even if you don’t have pets, veterinarians are an integral part of public health and the welfare of our society.

Welcome! We look forward to meeting and working with all of you in the future.

Sincerely,
Andy Schwarz
